Justice and the Machine - Justice and Evelyn have a quiet moment together...

INT. HOTEL PRESIDENTIAL SUITE- NIGHT
Evelyn lays fully clothed above the covers on the bed.
The light from an open door falls across her body. A MAN’S SHADOW drapes over her form.
Justice stands in the doorframe and watches her sleep with a distracted look in his eye. A smile twitches at his mouth, and he steps forward. Sitting on the bed, he touches her cheek.
JUSTICE
Wake up, Evelyn.
She stirs awake and squints up at him.
EVELYN
Hi...
JUSTICE
Time for bed.
Evelyn sits up and starts to undress. Justice stands and takes off his shirt. Working off her blouse, Evelyn half-consciously tries to unzip and wriggle off her skirt. She gives up.
EVELYN
Will you help me?
He gives her a pull up to her feet, then reaches behind and unzips her skirt. It falls unhindered to the floor. She rubs a finger across his bare chest, smiling.
EVELYN
You look as good as the day I met you.
He kisses her, she hugs him close.
EVELYN
Oh, I’m having that wish again.
JUSTICE
Which one is that?
EVELYN
That wish. The one where we have children and are living on a farm
away from all this.
JUSTICE
I know. I’m sorry we haven’t had any. I guess our genes just aren’t
compatible.
EVELYN gives him a swat on the back.
EVELYN
Don’t say that. I like to think there’s some hope for us.
JUSTICE
Me too. Maybe we’ll find a way.
EVELYN
Hey, sailor, think you might try to find a way tonight?
She kisses him softly. He whispers through kisses.
JUSTICE
I might be able to think of something...
They topple out of frame onto the bed. Fumbling, giggling... Justice abruptly stands into frame, tugging the pantyhose off her legs, the struggle making them laugh. The PHONE RINGS. They stop, locking eyes in disappointment. A painful moment of silence... The phone rings again.
JUSTICE
I have to get that.
EVELYN
I know. That’s the special phone. Only the President can answer the
special phone.
More ringing. Justice holds the limp pantyhose as Evelyn curls up on the bed. The mood is definitely broken.
JUSTICE
I’m sorry-
EVELYN
Don’t... Just- y’know, that thing...
She flop-turns away from him, hugging a pillow to her chest. Justice crosses over to the ringing phone and picks up the receiver.
